Slowing the spread of COVID-19 in Fayette County can't be done by just one individual, organization or group, it takes all of us working together to protect each other.
As school starts back on August 17, students and staff will be adhering to safety protocols to help
keep each other safe, these include wearing face coverings, appropriate distancing from each
other, and frequent hand washing and hand sanitizing.
While students and staff will be practicing safety measures, the health of our schools also lies in
your hands, whether you are a parent, grandparent, business owner, or resident at-large, your
actions and decisions will have an impact on schools being able to stay open, and our community
remaining productive.

Event Name: Virtual Community Forum
COVID's Impact on Substance Use, Recovery, and Mental Health
Date: May 27th 2020, 7-8PM
Where: Join the meeting on Zoom
https://zoom.us/j/92419737013
WHAT WE WILL BE ADDRESSING IN THIS FORUM:
In this Community Forum, we plan to:
openly discuss the issues that COVID-19 is having on mental health (in general), recovery and the physical risks for people who use nicotine, alcohol or vaping.
provide resources, such as the Georgia Crisis and Access Line, Georgia COVID-19 Hotline, the Georgia COVID-19 Emotional Support Line, and other resources.
hear people's thoughts and concerns about COVID-19's impact on their own health and well-being.
share relevant data.
WHAT WE WILL NOT BE ADDRESSING IN THIS FORUM
As an important note, we do NOT plan to focus on issues such as our health care's capacity to test for or treat COVID, or our state's plans to open up parts of the economy, as those issues are beyond the scope of Fayette FACTOR and Drug Free Fayette. We acknowledge the importance of these issues to many people, but again, they are outside the scope of our organization.
We have a renowned speaker in Jeff Breedlove, Director of Communications with the Georgia Council on Substance Abuse, as well as three local therapists, recovery and mental health experts as panelists.
